I would guess ease of installation, the bends will give you more room/flexibility for hooking into the hose fitting. The more I’ve worked on german cars the more I’ve seen that there is usually a reason for the way they do things. That reason may be overengineered, convoluted and slightly insane but there _is_ a reason

Well then my assumption would be design to aid in absorption of shock loads of the clutch fluid as well as flex in the line for motion of the actual engine/transmission on the mounts. I think. that’s my idea of the why.

all metal lines are made like this to allow expansion. It may not be needed for this application, but that very same part may be used on another that has no hydraulic hosed attached thus limiting flexibility.
